BlockBeats News, November 25th, due to increasing concerns about the labor market and the economy, the U.S. consumer confidence saw the largest drop in 7 months.

Data released on Tuesday showed that the U.S. Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index for November fell by 6.8 points to 88.7, below economists' expectations.

Chief Economist at the Conference Board, Dana Peterson, stated: "Consumers' written feedback on economic factors continued to mention prices and inflation, tariffs and trade, and politics, and increasingly referred to the federal government shutdown. Mentions of the labor market have eased somewhat but still occupy a prominent place among other high-frequency topics. The overall tone in November was slightly more negative than in October."
